AluSpace Aluminium
Internal Doors
Beautifully defined spaces. More natural light. Discover everything you need to know about our AluSpace aluminium internal doors.
Good to know.
01 What are AluSpace aluminium internal doors?
AluSpace aluminium internal doors are stylish, glazed doors designed to divide interior spaces while allowing natural light to flow between rooms. Featuring slim aluminium frames and large glass panels, they create a contemporary industrial appearance without the weight of traditional steel doors.
02 What types of AluSpace internal doors are available?
AluSpace offers three main configurations:
- Hinged doors: A traditional opening arrangement, ideal for everyday access between rooms.
- Sliding doors: A space-conscious option that moves along a sliding track rather than swinging into the room.
- Fixed screens: Glazed aluminium partitions that divide spaces without creating a doorway.
These options can also be combined to create a made-to-measure internal glass partition.
03 Can AluSpace doors include fixed glass panels?
Yes. AluSpace can incorporate fixed glazed panels alongside doors to create larger internal screens. Fixed glazing can be positioned to the side of a doorway or above it, helping maximise natural light while creating a defined separation between rooms.
04 Can AluSpace doors be used as room dividers?
Absolutely. AluSpace internal doors and fixed screens are ideal for dividing open-plan living areas without making rooms feel dark or enclosed. They can help separate kitchens, dining rooms, living areas and home offices while maintaining a visual connection between spaces.
05 Do AluSpace internal doors make a room feel brighter?
Yes. The large glazed panels allow natural light to pass between adjoining rooms, helping spaces feel brighter, more open and welcoming. They are particularly useful where a traditional solid door or partition might restrict the flow of daylight.
06 What colours are available?
AluSpace has three standard colour options:
Additional RAL colour options are available at extra cost, subject to specification.
07 Are AluSpace doors made from aluminium or steel?
AluSpace doors are manufactured using aluminium frames rather than traditional steel. This provides the distinctive slim-framed, industrial-style appearance associated with glazed metal doors, with the practical benefits of aluminium construction.
08 Are AluSpace doors suitable for traditional homes?
Yes. Their clean lines and glazed panels make them suitable for a wide range of interior styles. They work particularly well in contemporary open-plan homes, industrial-inspired interiors, renovated properties and traditional homes looking for a modern design feature.
09 Can AluSpace doors be made to measure?
AluSpace offers different configurations and size options to suit individual projects. The standard maximum dimensions listed for the Sapphire range are:
- Hinged doors: 900mm wide x 2200mm high.
- Sliding doors: 1200mm wide x 2500mm high.
- Fixed screens: 1400mm wide x 2500mm high.
Bespoke design options may also be available. Final dimensions depend on the configuration and technical requirements of the installation.
10 Are AluSpace aluminium internal doors low maintenance?
Yes. Aluminium is a durable, practical material that requires relatively little maintenance. Regular cleaning of the frames and glass, together with occasional checks of the door hardware, will help keep your internal doors looking and operating well.
11 Can AluSpace doors be used in a home office?
Yes. AluSpace glazed doors and fixed screens are an attractive way to create a dedicated home office without completely closing it off from the rest of your home. They help retain natural light and provide a visual division between working and living spaces.
12 Do AluSpace internal doors provide privacy?
AluSpace doors are designed to maintain a visual connection between spaces through their glazed panels. The level of privacy will depend on the glazing specification selected. If privacy is important, discuss suitable glass options with our team before choosing your design.

Benefits of "Crittal Style" Doors
Crittall-style doors are popular because they blend functionality with a sleek, timeless aesthetic. Here are some benefits and reasons why they’re so in demand:
1. Maximizing Natural Light
The slim steel or aluminium frames allow for larger glass panels, letting in more natural light and creating a bright, open feel.
2. Versatile Design
They work in various styles—industrial, modern, Scandinavian, or even traditional homes—adding character without overwhelming a space.
3. Creating Zones Without Closing Off Space
Unlike solid walls or wooden doors, Crittall-style doors define spaces while maintaining an open-plan feel, making them perfect for room dividers.
4. Industrial-Chic Aesthetic
Their black metal frames and grid patterns give off an effortlessly cool, urban vibe that complements both contemporary and vintage interiors.
5. Durability & Strength
Steel and aluminium versions are robust, long-lasting, and require less maintenance than timber doors, making them a practical choice.
6. Customization Options
They come in different finishes, colours, and glass styles (e.g., frosted, reeded, or clear), allowing homeowners to tailor them to their style.
Would you consider installing them in your home?
